The world perceptions and unique experiences provided by this small town occasioned music production, rhyme-writing and on-stage performances the likes of which had never been seen. While the popular hip-hop of the time comprised shallow reflections of an image weaker men strived to become, The Bad Planet composed music of assiduous complexity and lyrics more resembling treatises of life, psychology, and the underlying substrate of American culture.

Their music today is a unique amalgam of quick wittedness, originality and depth, hewn with a variety of sick beats produced almost exclusively by members of The Bad Planet itself. Although The Bad Planet maintains a deep veneration for the spirit and motivation of new MC's they also consider themselves perhaps one of the last vestiges of an era of Hip-hop that foremost held homage to originality, genuineness, and the spirit of music.
